Current Currency Support
At Blackbird RSVP, we currently process all ticket sales exclusively in US Dollars (USD). This streamlined approach allows us to offer reliable, secure payment processing through our trusted partner, Stripe.
How It Works
When you set up ticket sales for your event:
All ticket prices must be entered in USD
Your attendees will see prices displayed in USD
Credit card charges will be processed in USD
Payouts to event hosts are made in USD
For International Event Hosts
If you're hosting events outside the United States, here are some important considerations:
Setting Prices
When determining your ticket prices, you may want to:
Check current exchange rates to set appropriate USD prices
Consider rounding to simple USD amounts for easier attendee calculations
Add a note in your event description mentioning the approximate price in your local currency
Receiving Payments
When you receive payouts:
Funds will be deposited to your connected Stripe account in USD
Your bank may automatically convert the funds to your local currency
Conversion rates are determined by your bank or payment provider, not by Blackbird RSVP
Attendee Experience
Your international attendees will:
See all prices listed in USD on your event page
Be charged in USD when completing their purchase
May incur foreign transaction fees from their credit card company (this varies by card)
See the transaction on their statement in USD or converted to their local currency (depending on their card issuer)
Our Future Plans for Multiple Currencies
We're excited to share that multi-currency support is on our roadmap! We understand the importance of providing local currency options for both event hosts and attendees around the world.
While we don't have a specific timeline to announce yet, our development team is working toward offering:
The ability to list and process ticket sales in multiple major currencies
Seamless currency conversion display for attendees
Payout options in various currencies
These enhancements will make the ticketing experience even smoother for international events and attendees.
Tips for International Events (Currently)
Until multi-currency support becomes available, here are some best practices:
Be transparent: Clearly state in your event description that charges will be in USD
Provide context: Consider including approximate local currency equivalents in your event description
Consider payment fees: Some attendees may incur foreign transaction fees—consider this when pricing tickets
Plan for processing time: International payment processing may take slightly longer
