If you're planning a ticketed event, Blackbird RSVP makes it easy to create and sell tickets directly from your event page. Here’s how ticketing works and what fees to expect.
1. Adding Tickets to Your Event
You can add tickets while creating your event or after publishing:
Go to your Event Dashboard
Click “Manage Tickets” or “Add Ticket Types”
Set the name, price, and quantity for each ticket
You can add multiple types (e.g., General Admission, VIP, Donation) and manage inventory limits for each.
Coupons are available in percentages or dollar amounts in the coupon section!
2. How Ticketing Fees Work
Ticketed events are free to publish. Instead of charging you upfront, we collect a small fee per ticket sold.
Our standard ticketing fees:
$1 per ticket
+1.99% of the ticket price
(Capped at $9.50 per ticket)
Plus: Stripe charges an additional 3% processing fee, which is paid directly to them.
💡 Example: If you sell a $50 ticket, you’d pay:
$1 + 1.99% = $1.99 Blackbird fee
3% to Stripe = $1.50 payment processing
Net: You receive $50 for this ticket. The attendee pays $53.49.
We don't currently have a way to absorb fees as the organizer.
3. Setting Up Payouts
By default, we pay out your proceeds by check three days after the close of your event. Checks can take 1-2 weeks to arrive after they've been issued, depending on where you're located.
To set this up: List your payment information in the Proceeds section of your dashboard. Funds left sitting for 90 days can no longer be collected, so please fill this out!
Need funds faster? ACH payments are available! We can send funds via ACH any time throughout the ticket sales period if you assume the responsibility for any refunds.
To get setup for ACH: Email [email protected] and make that request, including your event name or link.
4. Refunds
Refunds can be issued upon request and are completely up to you as the organizer to honor or not.
To issue a refund: Contact us at [email protected] with the attendee's name and email address (or a receipt if you have it).
